     There is often a teacher in our lives that we will never forget, a person that has influenced us in a significant way. I had the privilege of knowing one such person and her name was Sari. Sari taught me Geography and History from the 7th to the 9^th grades. However, for me she was more than a teacher, and I can say that in a way she saved my life.

     I was going through a very difficult period then, and although Sari did not know exactly what was wrong, I felt as if she simply knew that even the smallest gesture of love would help me pass the day. She never pried or asked me to tell her about what I had been going through, and yet I always felt that she understood. After I finished school I found out that she had helped other students in a similar way.

     With her around we were never transparent, she saw us all and did the best she could to help us. During Sari's lessons she taught us more than just History and Geography, she taught us about life, the world, and how to become better people. I hope to become that kind of teacher; I would like not only to impart knowledge to my students but also to change the way they see the world; a teacher for life.
