On the issue of legalising organ trade:

There is a very fine line between being egocentric and altruistic. The question rising from this is why should we in our own society be banned from preforming an altruistic act such as selling an organ? Not having the opportunity to perform an altruistic act is somewhat outrageous, especially if it can save people’s lives.

Organ trade does not only save the life of the person receiving the organ, but can also help the donors themselves. If, for example, the donor is in a stage where his/her family needs financial support and is having difficulty trying to make ends meet, selling an organ can assist them greatly. In any case, organ selling already happens today, albeit illegally! Were it legal, the donor would be paid fairly, without giving too much money to the broker, and the surgery itself would be supervised and performed properly. In this way, the two people involved in the procedure would benefit and be taken care of to the maximum.

So, if a world-wide community of people could benefit from such an act why not legalise it?
